How do wrinkles form? As skin ages, the dermis (or middle layer) loses its collagen and elastin fibers, so the skin begins to look loose and slack. At the same time the skin becomes thinner and loses fat, so it can look less plump and smooth. Factor in the effects of gravity pulling the skin down, and you've got a wrinkle.3
The three main causes of wrinkles are:
- Aging
- Sun Exposure
- Smoking
